Grand Canyon Dreaming

In my mind, I'm already there.... Grand Canyon Guide

I'll be painting, musing, thinking of you all. My heart is full of good words of encouragement.

I am thankful for you.

Let's see if I can blog a little while on the Rim. At first, you can just picture me with an awestruck (and slightly goofy) look on my face.

Here sits a visitation of joy
Captured by a flickering light
Easing the cry of a world yearning to rest
Just for a moment
This is my gratified wish
To be present in this warm light (of the Rim)
Not far away
Where I am of no use

And, a special thank you to:

Linny D.Vine

Jeffrey J. Boron

and Mr. Artyfice and Ell.

Could not have done this without you. There are other really special people who have helped in so many ways. I'm thinking of you, too.

With best wishes--m

What a wonderful month you have to look forward to. The chance to paint in a spectacular place, and the recognition you deserve.
It will probably race by in a blur of color, and light, and faces and... so much more.
Looking forward to reading and seeing(!) the stories from the Rim.

Thank you, Donald!

You're absolutely correct. I am no photographer, but I look forward to sharing some views with you, and a story or two.

Virtual hugs.

Hi Melinda,

Wishing you unseasonably cool (not hot) temperatures for the drive. I believe we're in "sweater weather" here in Toronto at 93 Fahrenheit. So something in the low 90s would be good, and perfect sunny days. You will rock the canyon for sure. Congratulations again. Lucky visitors to the canyon, and I wish I could be one. Thanks for your kind words, and right back at you.

Hello Barbara,

Oh, I am counting on your wish for cool temps while we travel! I guess one way to ensure that would be to leave early. :)

Love your term, "sweater weather." So true. I wish you some cooling rain and great AC wherever you go.

Thank you so much! I'm taking you with me in spirit.

Virtual hugs!

Thank you Melinda! I am so honored that you would mention me in your blog.
You always bring such great strength and lyricism to your painting and poetry, both. But I beg to differ with you in the last line of your poem – you are in fact of great use beyond measure, because you contribute beyond measure with your deep love of nature and infallible artist’s eye.
