Tucson Open Studio Tour November 14th, 15th

The Tucson Open Studio Tour takes place this coming weekend, November 14th and 15th, from 11 AM to 5 PM. The Tucson Pima Arts Council has brought together over 167 artists to participate in the fall event.

Whew! Yes, I signed up a few months ago and am readying the studio for this weekend's excitement (trauma?)--which reminds me of the following quote from Mark Twain, "Keep away from people who try to belittle your ambitions. Small people always do that, but the really great make you feel that you, too, can become great." (from Taking the Leap, Cay Lang) Hope you're taking leaps forward even if they're a bit scary.

Here is the postcard that we have been handing out and, if you'd like, the link above will take you to the website that shows links and maps to the artists' studios. You can take a gander at what other artists are up to in this burg.

How I wish you all could attend. For now, I'm not in the studio to paint, but hope to be very soon.

In the meantime, I've got a couple of photos of the neighborhood falcon crying out..."Go back to your studio! Go back to your studio"! (?) and a view over the fence.

Oh Boy. If only I had wings like your resident falcon (what a beautiful bird), I would fly down to see this magnificent show this weekend! Congratulations. I know it will be overwhelmingly successful, because you are a superb artist, and delightful human being.

Hurray for you!!!!!

Listen to the falcon... :)

I hope it goes great this weekend...and I'd love to hear about it when you are all recovered from it!

That would be so fantastic, Barbara! I really wish you could fly in. You know, I do see planes fly over the studio, heading to the airport....

We'll take lots of photos and when I've recovered from the social overload, I'll write all that I can remember without too many boring details.

Thank you so much! Virtual hugs galore.

You're wonderful, Karen. I shall take your advice and head in that direction in between studio prep and mudding the interior walls.

And, I'll make sure to share the event in any way I can after I come out of the small, dark closet of sensory depredation that will realign my sense of equilibrium following the two day event.

Thank you, Jeane! I'm with you. May you have a grand time at the Northwinds Showcase Gallery!!

P. S. It was a very crazy bird this weekend. There were two in the area and they were having quite the conversation.

Here's to a very successful weekend! I wish I could see too. Melinda, would you take pictures and post them on your blog?

I would be so honored if you could visit, Loriann. I will, indeed, post photos of the event. Some of them may have the blur from the shaky hands of a nervous artist, but...I'll share them with you.

Thank you!

Melinda, I do wish I could fly in for this event. Looking forward to hearing about the outcome!

You're welcome in my studio anytime, Janelle! Thank you for stopping by. Yes, I'm hoping to take lots of photos...Maybe I should pretend to be a visitor to my own studio and mingle anonymously. Hmmm. I'm likin' this idea.

You know that I would have loved to be there on the tour, Melinda! I'm certain that you will back at the easel soon - as your spirit bird says!

Thank you, thank you, Linny. It would be such an honor to have you visit! Maybe some other year(hint, hint).

.....I like that, "spirit bird".
