More on this later. I am thankful for painting supplies. I am thankful. What are you thankful for?! Happy Thanksgiving everyone! The pinnacles are just pure Clark-Institute-masters-awesome-gestural-scribbles of energy and paint. Exquisite! Go purple and gold!

And thank YOU, Melinda, for great art, all year around. Not just entertaining, but an inspiration.

Why, thank you, Mr. Artyfice.

When you have only 30 minutes to paint the first part, while hoping not to burn the baking brownies, it better be gestural!

Of course, the painting took a lot longer to paint as I kept checking on the food!

Yay! Go purple and gold!

Thanks for you and your beautiful art, too! (I'm glad that all is well in your world and that your show was a great success and your pupper and people are all well.) Happy Thanksgiving, Melinda!

Thankful that the work and words I always find here are accessible and inspirational.
And thankful for you too that your sweet dog is going to be around to sniff out the errant scraps from the table this Thanksgiving.

You find subject matter for painting in such unexpected places and turn the ordinary into beauty.

Thank you too Melinda.

Hi Melinda,

I am thankful for you -- for your intelligent, funny, inspiring posts,
for your magnificent paintings like this one. Thanks too for the pictures of the dogs. Stay well Kate. I am thankful for living in a country where women can teach, paint, move around on their own safely. I'm thankful for food, and shelter. So much.

Now back to you. Have a superb Thanksgiving.

Thankful to live in the best place on earth, thankful to be a painter, very thankful to have your friendship and inspiration. Thankful for the internet which allows us all to connect, wherever we are. :)

Melinda this is another gorgeous painting!!!

I am loving these rapid studies - they exemplify what is quintessential in your unique handling of paint and can hardly be put into words. Sally forth, Esparza, with more.
They have a fabulous collection don't they - the Clark. We visited the Clark, autumn of two years ago on our way back from Montreal. I didn't know then your son was a student at Williams,
nor did I know you, nor did I blog!
I'm glad your Kate has rallied.
What am I thankful for - sweet blogging friends and resilience!

Today, I'd like to honor each of your comments by letting them stand.

Gratitude is the strongest medicine. It is a powerful mixture of love and true humility.

You have mine.

I am thankful for you, Melinda, and all the other artists who provide such inspiration, advice and support in person and over the internet. It's hard to imagine where I would be without that. I am also thankful for the human ability to find meaning and inspiration where-ever we are. As you found in your travels east, art and inspiration is not bound by the place where we live. Influenced, of course, but not bound.

I am thankful for life!

I always love to see subject matter that is out of our usual scope...both in my own and in others' work...even in the little sidebar, this image was intriguing!
Hope your Thanksgiving was wonderful!
